THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CRUISE CONTROL (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride.
b)	REGIMENTAL (K Matsunyane) and WHATEVER NEXT (G van Niekerk) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockey S Khumalo reported that CAPTAIN OUPIE changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	Jockey M Mjoka reported that CHIEF OF STATE did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
c)	Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with WHATEVER NEXT and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey JP van der Merwe (CRUISE CONTROL) was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that he made a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. JP van der Merwe signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2000.00
e)	CRUISE CONTROL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
