Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	LORD NELSON (R Simons) and IRISH TIGER (M Thackeray) were slow losing one length.
b)	SILVER TUDOR (C Habib) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c)	FULL GO (M Yeni) reared in the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	FIDDLERONTHECLIFFS (D De Gouveia) hung out from the 400m.
b)	At the 300m, ALWAYS BETTER (*K A Brewer) went amiss, shifted out sharply and broke the outside running rail when it fell over at the 250m. As a consequence, Apprentice Brewer was dislodged.  Apprentice Brewer was attended to by the Paramedics and the Course Medical Officer and was declared fit to continue riding.
c)	Jockey R Simons reported that LORD NELSON coughed in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	CIAN THE CONQUEROR (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer C Spies advised (GF).
e)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ALWAYS BETTER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.  Trainer P F Matchett advised (NHA).


JOCKEY CHANGES:

a)	ALWAYS BETTER was ridden by Apprentice K A Brewer (declared 26 October 2022 at 10H03).
b)	IRISH TIGER was ridden by Jockey M Thackeray (declared 28 October 2022 at 13H17).
