THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUEEN'S NAVY (R Munger), TRAIL BREAKER (L Mxothwa) and WELCOME BREEZE (J P van der Merwe) were slow losing one length. b) EFFICIENT TRADER (C Habib) was restless in the stalls and lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) QUEEN'S NAVY (R Munger) hung in from the 400m. b) Apprentice P Mxoli felt something amiss with LUNAR WINTER and eased her out of the race at approximately the 800m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of GREAGARIOUS GAL (S Khumalo) (betting 4/1, distance 17,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) SOUTHERN SKIES (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
