Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROGUE MALE (+V Ngqoshani) was restless in the stalls. b) JANNEMAN (+S Qhwaba) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start Work Rider S Qhwaba was dislodged when JANNEMAN, which initially shifted inwards slightly, ducked out sharply for no apparent reason. In terms of Rule 93.2.5 JANNEMAN (+S Qhwaba) is suspended until such time as this gelding proves tractable to gallop with a companion on a race day. b) Leaving the 50m RAFIKI (+C Dixon) had to be steadied off the heels of WYLIE JACK (+B Nkunzi), losing momentum, when awkwardly placed between CARRIACOU (+S Tamela), which was hanging out throughout and WYLIE JACK (+B Nkunzi) which shifted out without sufficient correction. As a consequence, Work Rider C Dixon was unable to ride RAFIKI to the finish. Work Rider B Nkunzi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of WYLIE JACK he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RAFIKI in the concluding stages. Work Rider B Nkunzi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) work riders' race. c) Work Rider L Mdiyana was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on MALINOIS. Work Rider L Mdiyana signed an admission of guilt and was given a warning. d) Trainer AE Sands was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse CARRIACOU. Trainer AE Sands signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. e) WYLIE JACK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AD Steyn was advised.
