THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DREAM SPIRIT (S Veale) was restless in the stalls and thereafter slow into stride. b) F EIGHT (K de Melo) and ROYAL INVITATION (G Wright) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GLOBAL AVENUE (G van Niekerk) raced wide without cover on the bend and into the straight. b) Leaving the 1200m ANA IN SEATTLE (*J Solomons) raced onto the heels of DREAM SPIRIT (S Veale) and had to be steadied. c) MOONLITE NIGHT (M Yeni) steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between F EIGHT (K de Melo) and GLOBAL AVENUE (G van Niekerk), which rolled out under pressure. d) SILVERLINKS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
