THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ETERNAL LIFE (*K A Brewer) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) ODE TO THE OCEAN (*G Pieterse) hung in from the 200m. Thereafter Apprentice Pieterse reported that ODE TO THE OCEAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performances of MIKE'S CHICK (K de Melo) (betting 9/4, distance 10,00 lengths) and MAGICAL FLIGHT (C Habib) (betting 4/1, distance 7,25 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Trainer M F de Kock was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of MIKE'S CHICK on return to stable. d) ETERNAL LIFE (*K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
