THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) COLUMBIA ROAD (*M K Katjedi) commenced to over race in the early stages and thereafter was eased in anticipation of FRENCH PRINCESS (J Gates) rolling inwards at the 1300m. b) TOP TEN (*S Hlengwa) was hanging in and shifted in from the 250m. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with MAITH AN CAILIN in the running and as a result did not persevere with his ride from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of IF YOU SAY SO (M Yeni) (8.80 lengths, 9/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) TOP TEN (*S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
