Race 7: TAB 4RACING APP FM 68 HANDICAP (F & M) (For Fillies and Mares)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FEELING FOXY (*RA Venniker) was stubborn loading.
b)	CARBONADO (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE (JP van der Merwe) and OPULENCE (R Fourie) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start JUST FOR LAUGHS (Y Ramzan), which went amiss, was immediately eased out of the race. JUST FOR LAUGHS (Y Ramzan) was attended to on the course by the veterinary surgeon
b)	Approaching the 100m MON TRESOR (M Yeni) had to be steadied and as a consequence, PARIS OPERA (S Khathi) had to be checked when carried out by CARBONADO (L Mxothwa), which shifted out without correction. Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of CARBONADO he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MON TRESOR and PARIS OPERA approaching the 100m. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 06/11/2022 to 12/11/2022 both dates inclusive)
c)	Jockey T Gould reported that MUR MUR took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	Jockey M Yeni reported that MON TRESOR did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with BEGONIA. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	Jockey K Matsunyane was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking VENETA more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey K Matsunyane signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey K Matsunyane used his crop, his recent record and the number of strikes (13) over the permissible level. 
g)	PINNACLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
