THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SONIC BURST (J Jacobs) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls. b) WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS) (L Mxothwa) jumped outwards. c) TOTALLY ROCKS (S Veale) jumped inwards. d) OSCAR'S WINNER (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start DANCETILDAYLIGHT (C Orffer) and STIPTELIK (AUS) (K de Melo) made contact and had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between ANCIENT EPIC (A Mgudlwa), which shifted in slightly and TOTALLY ROCKS (S Veale) which shifted out away from WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS) (L Mxothwa). b) DANCETILDAYLIGHT (C Orffer) had difficulty securing clear running between the 400m and the 300m. c) KWINTA'S LIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
