THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	GODFATHER (*G Pieterse) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
b)	FISH EAGLE (R Munger) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c)	BENNI IN THE AREA (C Habib) was slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, MELECH (M Yeni) was carried in by CIRCUS LIGHTS (*K A Brewer), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b)	Shortly after the start, NEW MEXICO (R Simons) became unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned inwards when bumped by FISH EAGLE (R Munger), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
c)	Approaching the 400m, GODFATHER (*G Pieterse), which rolled out marginally, was unbalanced and bumped inwards by FOSTINOVO (G Lerena), which improved into a narrow run on the inside of MELECH (M Yeni). The Stewards, in assessing this incident, ruled that there were circumstances involved and took no further action. 
d)	FOSTINOVO (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
