THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	TURBO VEE EIGHT (*M Katjedi) and GETTYSBURG (*D Geerthsen) were slow losing two lengths. 
b)	CAPTAIN ROCKET (S Veale) and ALFATORIO (A Arries) lost one length. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	TURBO VEE EIGHT (*M Katjedi) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field. 
b)	At the 1000m, SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD (K Matsunyane) shifted in marginally and immediately thereafter was switched out away from RARE FLAG (A Mgudlwa). As a result, ROCK N ROLL GIRL (R Fourie) was carried out. 
c)	At the 1000m, KASHKAVAL (C Ngcobo), which over-raced and proved difficult to settle, was switched out to avoid running onto the heels of RUGGER BUGGER (C Habib). 
d)	SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD (K Matsunyane) was hanging out from the 350m. 
e)	CAPTAIN ROCKET (S Veale) and RED MAGICIAN (S Khumalo) came together and brushed at the finish. 
f)	Apprentice D Geerthsen reported that GETTYSBURG took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
g)	RUGGER BUGGER (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (NS).
