Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ALWAYS SHINING (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls.
b)	ASINANTANGA (C Zackey), CHEERFUL CHARLIE B (M van Rensburg), MR FOX (R Fourie), PRINCE ANTONIO (K Minnie) and DEPUTY TARGARYEN (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	GLOBAL CHIEF (X Ndlovu), which over raced in the early and middle stages, was taken in behind the field 	and directed inwards towards the inside running rail shortly after the start.
b)	MR FOX (R Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages.
c)	PRINCE ANTONIO (K Minnie) was hanging out from the 450m. 
d)	Jockey K Minnie (PRINCE ANTONIO) dropped his crop at	approximately the 300m.
e)	DONNY'S BOY (S Naidoo) shifted both ways away from crop between the 350m and 150m and thereafter 	commenced to hang in in the latter stages.	
f)	ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) shifted inwards sharply away from the crop from the 150m.  Simultaneously, 	ALWAYS SHINGING (L Mxothwa) was hanging outwards badly, which resulted in both Riders having to take 	strong action to straighten their mounts to avoid them making contact shortly before the finish line. 
g) 	Jockey S Fortune reported that BRIGHT FUTURE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon 	was requested to examine this gelding.
h)	ASINANTANGA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG 	Smith, acting on behalf Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM)
