THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	RED SMOKE (Wes Marwing) was stubborn loading.
b)	WALKER BAY (R Simons) and VAVA VEGAS (B Nyawo) were restless in the stalls.
c)	DESTINATIONUNKNOWN (J Penny) and WISH FOR THE MOON (*P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) 	As the start was effected, MAYOR OF MERRIVALE (R Munger) was brushed in by WISH FOR THE MOON (*P Mxoli), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	Shortly after the start, VAVA VEGAS (B Nyawo) and PASCHALS NJARO (M Thackeray) were brushed in by DESTINATIONUNKNOWN (J Penny), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
c)	Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with STROKE OF MERCY in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 	
d)	Jockey	Wes Marwing reported that RED SMOKE did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
e)	Jockey R Danielson reported that WE'VE GOT TONIGHT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
f)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning WALKER BAY, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer R R Magner was advised.	
g)	MUNCHKIN (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
