THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RAMCHANDANI ROAD (C Habib) was stubborn loading. Trainer C Binda was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (PHvdW). b) INTEGRATE (S Khumalo), TANGANGA (*G Pieterse) and RATTLE BAG (*K A Brewer) were slow into stride. Race 4 contd. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 400m, Jockey C Maujean felt something amiss with MAGIC FLOWER and eased this gelding out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Shortly before the finish line, IN THE ETHER (*P Mxoli) was bumped out by PINCH HIT (D De Gouveia), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. c) RATTLE BAG (*K A Brewer), after being slow away, showed no pace in the early and middle stages. In response to Apprentice K A Brewer's urgings, RATTLE BAG managed to finish its race off strongly. d) In view of the performance of POWER RANGER (M Yeni), (distance 5,10 lengths, betting 7/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MAGIC FLOWER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. f) RAMCHANDANI ROAD (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
