Stipes Report
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 1400m, BERENGARIA (M van Rensburg) was steadied on two occasions to avoid the heels of BONETE (R Simons), which in turn was taken back to avoid the heels of EMIRATE GINA (R Danielson), which rolled out entering the first turn and was corrected. b) At approximately the 1300m, KILL SHOT (R Munger) was awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and RIVER QUERARESS (S Moodley), which was carried in by ORARARI GOLD (M Yeni), which rolled in whilst commencing to over-race. The Board, after reviewing these incidents, was of the opinion that they were racing incidents and that blame could not be apportioned to an individual rider and therefore took no further action. c) RIVER QUERARESS (S Moodley) and ODE TO THE OCEAN (*G Pieterse) came together and brushed at the 300m. d) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that ODE TO THE OCEAN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) The saddle on BONETE (R Simons) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an Official. f) EMIRATE GINA (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) RIVER QUERARESS raced with a tongue tie on (declared 11 November 2022 at 13H54). b) ROCK THE FOX raced with a tongue tie on (declared 11 November 2022 at 13H54). c) KILL SHOT raced equipped with blinkers (declared 18 November 2022 at 08H28). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ODE TO THE OCEAN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) RIVER QUERARESS blowing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
