THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PIPER'S CREEK (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In a slow-run race GIFT FROM HEAVEN (P Strydom), GODDEX APHAEA (O Noach) and PIPER'S CREEK (S Khumalo) proved difficult to settle. Jockey S Veale appeared before the Board and was advised that when racing at the front of the field he needs to ensure that he maintains a reasonable pace. b) LADY WRITER (*RA Venniker) raced wide without cover on the bend and into the straight. c) JAZZBELLA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
