THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, SOUND OF SUMMER (*G Pieterse) kicked the back gate resulting in CHYAVANA (K de Melo) breaking through the front gates. b) MITCH GOT HIS WISH (J P van der Merwe) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MITCH GOT HIS WISH (J P van der Merwe) over-raced in the early and middle stages and as a result, had difficulty negotiating the latter part of the turn. b) TUSCAN WINTER (G Lerena) hung in in the concluding stages. c) Shortly before the finish line, CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT (M Yeni) had to steady momentarily in anticipation of running into restricted galloping room, between CHYAVANA (K de Melo), which shifted in away from the crop, and FLOWERBOMB (M van Rensburg), which shifted out away from the crop. d) CHYAVANA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (DR). e) TUSCAN WINTER (G Lerena), placed fifth, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
