THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MERCURIAL JET (R Fourie) was examined by the course veterinary surgeon and withdrawn. b) RAY FLAMBE (L Mxothwa) and SWEETOHANNA (Y Ramzan) were stubborn loading. c) LILY OF ORANGE (S Khumalo) stood in the stalls as the start was effected, losing many lengths. d) I'M IN LOVE (J Mphanya) jumped awkwardly. e) POLLY FLINDERS (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LILY OF ORANGE dislodged Jockey S Khumalo during the pre-race parade without incident. b) Due to the late withdrawal of MERCURIAL JET (R Fourie) (Betting 2/1), the start of this race was delayed to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. c) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to LILY OF ORANGE (S Khumalo) in stall gate 7 and were satisfied that this filly had not been impeded, had refused to jump and therefore took no further action. d) From a wide draw SWEET OHANNA (Y Ramzan) raced wide without cover in the early stages. e) In view of the report from the starter regarding LILY OF ORANGE (S Khumalo), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be able to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 26/11/2022 to 02/12/2022 inclusive). LILY OF ORANGE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) LADY OF GOLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM).
