THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WARRIOR'S REST (*P Mxoli) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	At the 300m, NOW I GOT YOU (M Yeni) which had come to the end of its run, rolled in under pressure and was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of WINTER FLIGHT (K Matsunyane).
b)	In the concluding stages, DESERT MIRACLE (S Khumalo) was carried out marginally by TREAD SWIFTLY (J P van der Merwe) who in turn was carried out by VARS VICKY (R Simons) which shifted out away from the crop from the 200m.  As a consequence, MOONSHININGTHROUGH (K de Melo) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of DESERT MIRACLE (S Khumalo). 
c)	Apprentice P Mxoli the rider of WARRIOR'S REST appeared before the Board and was advised against the practice of using his crop on a horse which is out of contention for a place.
d)	Jockey K de Melo reported that MOONSHININGTHROUGH did not stride out freely in running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	VARS VICKY (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer S T Pettigrew advised (AH).
f)	TREAD SWIFTLY (J P van der Merwe), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis Trainer W Marwing acting on behalf of Trainer P B Muscutt advised (MS).
g)	DESERT MIRACLE (S Khumalo), placed third, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana advised (LK).
