THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	NORTHERN KING (J P van der Merwe), WARRIOR THE BRAVE (J Greyling) and NAZARE (K Matsunyane) were stubborn loading.
b)	AMERICAN STAR (C Maujean) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c)	ATCHISON TOPEKA (D De Gouveia) was restless in the stalls. Trainer P P Labuschagne was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (PHvdW).
d)	DOUBLE JOY (*S Sosibo) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
	Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (PHvdW).
e)	STEPPING OUT (R Munger) and JUST PROCCIE (*P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
f)	KNIGHTS TABLE (M van Rensburg) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
g)	TYGER FLY (*K A Brewer) was slow losing two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, NORTHERN KING (J P van der Merwe) was squeezed out between ATCHISON TOPEKA (D De Gouveia) and WINTER GREETING (C Habib), which was bumped in by JUST PROCCIE (*P Mxoli), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b)	Shortly after the start, KIT KAT KATIE (M Thackeray) and STEPPING OUT (R Munger), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. 		
c)	DOUBLE JOY (*S Sosibo) hung in from the 350m.
d)	STROKE OF MERCY (M Yeni) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m.
e)	ARCHIMIDES (R Simons) hung out in the concluding stages.
f)	Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with STROKE OF MERCY in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 	
g)	Jockey R Munger reported that STEPPING OUT did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 	
h)	Apprentice K A Brewer reported that TYGER FLY took no interest in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
i)	Jockey C Maujean reported that AMERICAN STAR changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 		
j)	Jockey J Mariba was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking PHANTOMOFTHEFOREST more than twelve times in the entire race.  Jockey J Mariba signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,500.00 was imposed. 
When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (16) and Jockey J Mariba's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (1).  	
k)	WINTER GREETING (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
