THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEARTSEASE (JP van der Merwe) and RESPECTABLE MISS (M Yeni) were stubborn loading. b) ANATURA (E Webber) and DAME OF FLAMES (R Danielson) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DAME OF FLAMES (R Danielson) raced wide without cover on the first bend and as a consequence, proved difficult to settle. b) Jockey R Munger reported that WILLOW LANE did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey S Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of WILDEST DREAMS, weighed back in at 53.6kgs, 1.1kg in excess of the weight at which he was declared out (52.5kgs). Jockey S Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. d) IDEAL ANGEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
