Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DOUGLAS DEVASTATOR (M Yeni) and QUASIMODO (L Mxothwa) were nervous in the stalls.
b)	SARDO NUMSPA (JP van der Merwe) was nervous in the stalls and fly-jumped leaving the stalls.
c)	VIEW THE ROSES dislodged Jockey M Mjoka leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to VIEW THE ROSES in gate 7 and established that this filly had thrown its head down as the start was effected and dislodged Jockey M Mjoka. The Stewards were satisfied that the filly had not been impeded and took no further action.
b)	At the 100m QUASIMODO (L Mxothwa), which had initially shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened, was carried inwards by KING OF LUV (*RA Venniker).
Trainer K Mitchley, the Trainer of the second-placed horse, QUASIMODO lodged an objection against the winner KING OF LUV (*RA Venniker) on the grounds of interference at the 100m.  The Objection Board, after giving due regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol films and giving consideration to the margin of 0,1 of a length between the two horses concerned, was of the opinion that they could not be satisfied that QUASIMODO would have finished ahead of KING OF LUV had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the Objection.  Trainer K Mitchley's deposit was refunded.
c)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that SARDO NUMSPA did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	KING OF LUV, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM)
