Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BONIKA (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
b)	CIAO BELLA (R Fourie) and WHO DO YOU LOVE (G Lerena) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start CIAO BELLA (R Fourie) had to be steadied off the heels of HAPPY CHANCE (K Matsunyane), which shifted in when just not sufficiently clear. Jockey K Matsunyane appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film and advised that in similar circumstances he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners.
b)	At the 150m a tiring PEACH DAIQUIRI (R Danielson) was steadied away from the heels of GIMME'S LASSIE (K de Melo), which rolled out.
c)	HOLD MY HAND (C Habib) had difficulty securing clear running between the 200m and the 100m and had to be directed inwards.
d)	Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that, whilst riding MAKE IT SNAPPY, he made a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2500,00.
e)	MAKE IT SNAPPY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (TJ)
