THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY ZULTANITE (+T Ncume) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately 1200m, RAGSAA (+T Myendeki) was steadied and directed outwards to avoid the heels of ROSY LEMON (+J Gwingwizha), which was carried out by LADY ZULTANITE (+T Ncume), which rolled outwards. As a consequence of this, RAGSAA (+T Myendeki) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. b) BUSHVELD (+T Matsoele), which raced green, proved difficult negotiating the turn. c) At approximately the 500m, LAST WILD ONE (+C Mabaya) took a number of awkward strides and collapsed, dislodging Work Rider C Mabaya. d) ROSY LEMON (+J Gwingwizha), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) INNER SENSE raced without blinkers (declared 5 December 2022 at 07H32). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) VOSHAARNOOI bilateral brush wounds behind. b) LAST WILD ONE severe bilateral epistaxis, collapsed and died. Trainer M F de Kock advised (TL).
