THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (M Khan) was slow losing one length. b) LIVERPOOL LEGEND (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 300m, TWICE IN CAMDEN (C Habib), which had come to the end of its run, was squeezed out between LIVERPOOL LEGEND (M Yeni) and MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (M Khan), which was carried out by CAPE BOUQUET (N Klink), which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey N Klink (CAPE BOUQUET) appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures sooner in races. b) Approaching the 200m, MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (M Khan), whilst racing in close quarters with CAPE BOUQUET (N Klink), was accidentally struck on the muzzle by Jockey N Klink's crop. c) MONSIEUR CHEVELLE (M Khan), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) APACHE FIGHTER was ridden by Jockey R Simons (declared 8 December 2022 at 14H10). Permission was granted as Jockey R Danielson could not draw the correct weight as the sweatbox at the Vaal Racecourse was out of order, and this precluded him from sweating. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CAPE BOUQUET - (winner Vaal 01/12/22), no merit rating or weight change. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LIVERPOOL LEGEND not striding out both front. b) TWICE IN CAMDEN stirrup rub on the right side. SCRATCHED: a) FLAG BEARER under 8-day suspension.
