THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TEXAS RED (R Munger) was stubborn loading. b) PROSPER'S GIFT (*S Sosibo) was slow losing one length. c) TWICE THE STORM (C Habib) and GOLDEN PROSPECT (*R A Venniker) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice R A Venniker, the rider of GOLDEN PROSPECT, accidentally dropped her crop leaving the 300m. Thereafter, at approximately the 200m, GOLDEN PROSPECT was directed outwards to continue its run. b) TANGANGA (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (AH). When questioned regarding the improved performance of TANGANGA, Trainer R Klaasen could offer the Board no suitable explanation.
