THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	OUTOFTHEDARKNESS (G van Niekerk) and DOCKOFTHEBAY (A Mgudlwa) were slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	SOUND OF SUMMER (B Nyawo) was eased out of the race at the 700m. Thereafter, Jockey B Nyawo reported that he felt something amiss with SOUND OF SUMMER in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
b)	SAFARI BLUE (S Khumalo) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. 
c)	In the concluding stages, WILLOW EXPRESS (R Munger) and INDLAMU (*R A Venniker) came together and brushed.
d)	In the concluding stages, CABINET SHUFFLE (J R Syster), which had come to the end of its run, was steadied to avoid the heels of WHAFEEF (*P Mxoli), which rolled in.
e)	Apprentice R A Venniker reported that INDLAMU changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this horse. 	
f)	Jockey Wes Marwing reported that ULULATE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. 	
g)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning WHAFEEF, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this colt is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. h)	DUKE OF SUSSEX (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (AH).
