THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BAYVIEW EXPRESS (JP van der Merwe) took an awkward stride in the early stages, was hanging out on the bend and then became unbalanced after taking another awkward stride at the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey JP van der Merwe eased this gelding out of the race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. b) TOTHEMOONANDBACK (R Fourie), which was racing behind BAYVIEW EXPRESS (JP van der Merwe) at the 400m, was steadied and switched out when BAYVIEW EXPRESS (JP van der Merwe) was eased out of the race. As a consequence, STREET ART (T Godden) was momentarily inconvenienced. c) In view of the performance of STREET ART (T Godden) (Betting 3/1 ; Distance 5.20) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) GLOBAL ALLY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
