Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MORE FOR ME (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) During the loading process, WILD FOREVER (*K A Brewer) became restless, threw its head down and broke through the front of the stalls. This filly was restrained by the Rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer C Dawson was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (BN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stipendiary Board called a race review into the start with regards to WILD FOREVER (*K A Brewer) in stall gate two (2). It was established, on reviewing the patrol films from the various angles, that WILD FOREVER was leaning against the starting stalls which precluded Apprentice K A Brewer from gaining his footing to the right-side stirrup iron. Apprentice K A Brewer was attempting to attract the attention of the Starter when the gates were released. The Board, after interviewing both assistant starters', and the veterinary surgeon, who were present during this incident, was of the opinion that this filly had not received a fair start and in terms of Rule 61.6.11, this filly was declared a non-runner. b) At approximately the 300m, LITTLE LADY (J Greyling) and ROSSLYNE (K Matsunyane), which switched in off the heels of KIT KAT KATIE (M Yeni) to continue its run, came together and bumped. c) SEA ANEMONE (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KIT KAT KATIE raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 12 December 2022 at 14H52). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SOLO DIVA coughing post race. b) LITTLE LADY tied up. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) WILD FOREVER non-runner in terms of Rule 61.6.11.
