THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOUTHERN STYLE (R Munger) was stubborn loading. b) KAIZEN WAY (J R Syster) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) KAIZEN WAY (J R Syster), after being slow away, failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. Thereafter, Jockey J R Syster reported that KAIZEN WAY took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Stable Employee T Nasho, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of KAIZEN WAY on return to stables b) HEARTS THUNDER (N Klink) hung in from the 300m. c) FULL GO (J P van der Merwe) was baulked from the 300m to the 200m and thereafter was switched in to continue its run. d) STROKE OF MERCY (*M K Katjedi) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. e) TRE AMICI (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee A Langa, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Sage, was advised (MduP). f) FULL GO (J P van der Merwe), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
