THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	APPLE CATCHER (S Veale) jumped awkwardly, losing one length.
b)	GLOBAL SONGSTRESS (G Lerena) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Leaving the 100m Jockey G Lerena (GLOBAL SONGSTRESS) hesitated with his riding when tightened for galloping room between LA PURA VIDA (B Fayd'Herbe) and SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (R Fourie), both of which shifted ground marginally. Thereafter LA PURA VIDA (B Fayd'Herbe) and SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (R Fourie) brushed at the finish.
b)	HANG OUT THE STARS (K Steyn) and CALIFORNIA DREAMIN (JP van der Merwe) raced green.
c)	In view of the performances of GLOBAL SONGSTRESS (G Lerena) and JAZZ DIVA (G van Niekerk) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these fillies.
d)	Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking APPLE CATCHER more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1500,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey S Veale used his crop and the number of strikes (14) over the permissible level. 
e)	TOUCH OF GRACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (SC)
f)	APPLE CATCHER, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PP Kruyer was advised. (SC)
