Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JAZZBELLA (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. b) CRUIZIN CALIFORNIA (J Jacobs) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with CALL IT FATE (G van Niekerk). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 300m BROADWAY GIRL (S Veale) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) At the 150m ENCHANTED CREEK (O Noach) rolled in and was brushed on the hindquarters by CRUIZIN CALIFORNIA (J Jacobs). As a consequence, ENCHANTED CREEK (O Noach) was turned and became momentarily unbalanced. c) At the 150m CALL IT FATE (G van Niekerk) was momentarily inconvenienced when close to the heels of a tiring JAZZBELLA (R Fourie). d) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with JAZZBELLA and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. e) DESERT ROSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl was advised.
