THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on VERIFIED (JP van der Merwe) was re-fitted at the start, causing a delay. b) CHARGE DOWN (S Devoy) and POTENTE (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STAY THE COURSE (S Khumalo) raced wide on the bend and into the straight. b) In the concluding stages POTENTE (R Fourie) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of MISS ROSE (Y Ramzan) and GREAT GUY (T Gould). c) Jockeys D Ashby and JP van der Merwe reported that SOUTH EAST and VERIFIED respectively did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. d) NOTORIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised (LM). JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SOUTH EAST - examined post-race.
