Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STORM JEWEL (+W van Staden) jumped awkwardly dislodging Workrider van Staden. b) LONDON PALADIUM (+B Mlangeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the stalls, STORM JEWEL fly-jumped dislodging Workrider W van Staden. b) At approximately the 1400m, the saddle on ALABAMA STORM (+N Ngqwangi) slipped forward badly placing Workrider Ngqwangi at a severe disadvantage throughout the race. c) Workrider S Mosia was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, in that he used his crop in a manner which was in contravention of the conditions of the Race, by striking DOUBLE JOY on three occasions when his crop hand was off the reins. Workrider Mosia signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in two Workrider races. Dates of Suspension: 19 January 2023 & 9 February 2023. d) ELEMBEE (+J Gwingwizha), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Nako advised (MS). WORKRIDER CHANGES: a) ELEMBEE was ridden by Workrider J Gwingwizha (declared 28 December 2022 at 13H03). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DOUBLE JOY raced without blinkers and without a tongue tie (declared 28 December 2022 at 15H58). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SASSY cut into right hind cannon. b) LONDON PALADIUM tied up post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
