Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BELLE'S FIRST WAVE (T Godden) and PURPLE OPERATOR (D De Gouveia) lost 1 length respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) NTABAZONDI (W Kennedy) stumbled shortly after the start. b) IMPERIAL CRUSADE (A Arries) raced wide in the early and middle stages. c) At the 450m, KHULUMA NATHI (S Khumalo) broke down and veered out sharply. As a consequence of this incident, PURPLE OPERATOR (D De Gouveia), DUKE OF ORANGE (D Dillon) and NTABAZONDI (W Kennedy) were carried out abruptly, KHULUMA NATHI (S Khumalo) bumped CREATOR (G Wright) which dislodged Jockey G Wright and IMPERIAL CRUSADE (A Arries) had to be eased in order to avoid the fallen Jockey G Wright. Thereafter, NTABAZONDI (W Kennedy) was eased out of the Race when awkwardly placed on the outside of KHULUMA NATHI (S Khumalo). d) BRISTOLBEAUFIGHTER (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) IMPERIAL CRUSADE raced with cheek pieces and without a tongue tie (advised 12.01.22/7h45). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) KHULUMA NATHI : Broke down left front sesamoid fracture. Euthanased on humane grounds. Blood specimens were taken for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe advised (MD) THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED : a) Jockey S Khumalo stood down after the running of this Race:- sprained right arm. Unable to continue riding. Dr Pillay. Rule 25.12 applies. b) Jockey G Wright was examined after being dislodged:- concussion, sprained right leg, referred to hospital for X-Rays. Unable to continue riding. Dr Pillay. Rule 25.12 applies. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
