Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FROM THE CLOUDS (C Orffer) was fractious in the stalls, taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded.
b)	MIGHTY MAC (K Steyn) reared in the stalls and then became fractious shortly before the start was effected and jumped slow, losing four lengths.
c)	SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regards to MIGHTY MAC (K Steyn) in stall gate 8 and established that this gelding had become fractious shortly before the start was effected, resulting in the Handler being unable to release MIGHTY MAC (K Steyn) timeously. As MIGHTY MAC (K Steyn) had finished in 3rd position, the Stewards acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2 took no further action.
b)	THEWOLFOFWOLSELEY (C Habib) was hanging out in the latter stages.
c)	The saddle on SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL slipped back in running, resulting in Jockey G van Niekerk being unable to fully assist the filly from the 100m. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward.
d)	In view of the report from the starter regarding MIGHTY MAC (K Steyn) this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 01/01/2023 to 07/01/2023 inclusive). MIGHTY MAC may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e)	In view of the report from the starter regarding FROM THE CLOUDS (C Orffer) this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 01/01/2023 to 07/01/2023 inclusive). FROM THE CLOUDS may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
f)	Trainer GR Puller was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that FIRST TIME LUCKY had been gelded. Stable Employee MK Jutzen, acting on behalf of Trainer GR Puller, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer GR Puller was fined R 250,00.
g)	Jockey C Orffer reported that FROM THE CLOUDS did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
h)	USA'S HOPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised. (HD)
