THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, TREE FAIRY (*M K Katjedi) and CALL TO GLORY (GB) (R Simons) came together and bumped. b) Shortly after the start, LADY ZULTANITE (S Khumalo) and PERCUSSIONIST (*P Mxoli) came together and bumped. c) ELUSIVE FIRE (J Greyling) stumbled leaving the stalls. d) MISAVA (M Yeni) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 100m, CALL TO GLORY (GB) (R Simons) was brushed in by OCTOBER FAIR (C Habib) which shifted in away from the crop and was immediately straightened. b) In view of the performance of WRITTENINTHESAND (G Lerena), (betting 3/1, distance 13,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer F P Habib was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. c) OCTOBER FAIR (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MdP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) WRITTENINTHESAND: Colours: Yellow, green stars, black sleeves, yellow cap (Ownership unchanged). b) TREE FAIRY raced equipped with blinkers (declared 1 January 2023 at 16H36).
