Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ISLAND TREASURE (#R Meaker) turned its head to the side as the start was effected and thereafter refused to jump.
b)	ANCIENT EPIC jumped very awkwardly and unbalanced Rider S Swanepoel.
c)	SAY YES (#H Sida) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regards to ISLAND TREASURE (#R Meaker) in stall gate 10 and were satisfied that the filly had not been impeded and any loss of ground was as a result of its own behaviour. No further action was taken.
b)	In view of the performance of SAY YES (#H Sida), which tired quickly from the 400m, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c)	After being slow to begin ANCIENT EPIC (#S Swanepoel) raced detached from the field in the early stages.
d)	In view of the report from the starter regarding ISLAND TREASURE (#R Meaker), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 08/01/2023 to 14/01/2023 inclusive). ISLAND TREASURE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e)	Rider H Sida was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that she failed to weigh out at the carded weight on SAY YES. Riding Master C du Plooy signed an admission of guilt on behalf of Rider H Sida and a warning was imposed.
f)	PACIFIC GREEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (DD)
