THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ROGUE MALE (T Gould) and THE LAST BELLE (D Ashby) were stubborn loading, causing a delay.
b)	SARDO NUMSPA (S Khumalo) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	IMPERIAL WINTER (Y Ramzan) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
d) 	SO DACHA (M Mjoka) jumped outwards.
e)	SHIPS AT SEA (J Mphanya) stood as the start was effected, losing many lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	FEDERAL RESERVE (L Mxothwa), which was hanging in in the straight, shifted in and had to be straightened leaving the 200m.
b)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that MO CESAR took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
c)	Jockey T Gould reported that ROGUE MALE took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the report from the starter regarding SHIPS AT SEA (J Mphanya), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 10/01/2023 to 16/01/2023 both dates inclusive). SHIPS AT SEA may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
