Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOG DETACHMENT (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) SEISMIC EVENT (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PERONZADA (K Minnie) shifted out away from the crop from the 150m and had to be straightened leaving the 50m. b) Jockey X Ndlovu was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking DOG DETACHMENT more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey X Ndlovu signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1500,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey X Ndlovu used his crop, his recent record and the number of strikes (15). c) STAY THE COURSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (HK) d) COASTAL PATH, the 3rd placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
