THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	TO THE MAX (M Mjoka) and SULTANAH (R Munger) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls.
b)	DEMIGOD (S Khumalo) rushed the front gate and thereafter was slow into stride.
c)	LIBRAN LANE (X Ndlovu) and ALASKAN FATE (Y Ramzan) jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	OPERA SWING (D de Gouveia) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	For a short distance shortly after the start, COLOUR CODED (J Mphanya) raced in restricted galloping room between SAINT ANASTASIA (C Maujean) and TO THE MAX (M Mjoka).
b)	DEMIGOD (S Khumalo) rolled in away from the crop in the concluding stages.
c)	Jockey J Mphanya reported that he felt something amiss with COLOUR CODED and he did not persevere with his riding in the straight. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 
d)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that OWLETTE did not stride out freely. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
e)	Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of ALASKAN FATE. Trainer GD Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250,00
f)	OPULENCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (HK)
