Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HIERKOMMIEBOKKIE (G Behr) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. b) SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (R Fourie) and GODDEX APHAEA (O Noach) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m COASTAL BLUES (JP van der Merwe) shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) After being slow to begin, HIERKOMMIEBOKKIE (G Behr) proved difficult to settle and raced prominently in the early stages. c) Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking GO LIKE FLO more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey A Domeyer signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1500,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey A Domeyer used his crop and the number of strikes (15). d) LA PURA VIDA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee S Cook, acting on behalf of Trainer Gareth van Zyl, was advised.
