THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, FLYING FIRST CLASS (C Habib) kicked the back gate, resulting in GYPSY MAGIC (*K A Brewer) becoming restless and breaking through. GYPSY MAGIC (*K A Brewer) was restrained by the Rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer A Nassif was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) DAME OF FLAMES (R Munger) was restless in the stalls and thereafter fly jumped leaving the stalls. c) BALL ROLLING (*P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) DARK VISION (S Brown) and KURT'S APPROVAL (J Gates) were slow losing one length. e) SAFFRON RAIN (J Penny) stumbled shortly after the start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SAFFRON RAIN (J Penny) stumbled shortly after the start. b) At approximately the 1100m, CHASING MAVERICKS (K Matsunyane) commenced to over-race and had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of MY KINGDOM (D Schwarz). c) KURT'S APPROVAL (J Gates) hung out from the 200m. d) In view of the performance of DAME OF FLAMES (R Munger), (distance 12,00 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) FLYING FIRST CLASS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
