Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAMILLE CLAUDEL (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 100m SHE'S MY CAPTAIN (R Fourie) and JURY DUTY (JP van der Merwe) brushed when SHE'S MY CAPTAIN (R Fourie) rolled in slightly away from PALO QUEEN (*R Venniker), which was hanging in. b) In the concluding stages STAR IN WINTER (K de Melo) was carried out by FASHION MISTRESS (S Veale), which shifted out away from the heels of EVERLASTING (K Matsunyane). As a consequence, ALLENDE (L Mxothwa) had to be steadied at the finish. c) Jockey K Steyn reported that he felt something amiss with SILVER SCREEN and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) JURY DUTY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised.
