THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOTAL PROTECTION refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer A B Fortune was advised (PHvdW). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TOTAL PROTECTION, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 17 January 2023 to 23 January 2023. TOTAL PROTECTION may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A B Fortune was advised. b) In view of the performance of EXPRESSFROMTHEUS (*P Mxoli), (distance 23,00 lengths, betting 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) STAR COIN (*K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
