THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LAST CHEER (R Munger) and UNITED EXPRESS (D Schwarz) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) UNITED EXPRESS (D Schwarz) over-raced in the early stages. b) AUNT PITTYPAT (M Yeni) raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight. c) Jockey M van Rensburg eased SUMMERLAND out of the race from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey M van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LAST CHEER (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P de Palma, acting on behalf of Trainer S J Gray, was advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SUMMERLAND abnormal respiratory noise. Entrapped epiglottis on scope. Veterinary report required prior to racing. Rule 49.7 applies.
