b)	HEPHAESTUS (M Thackeray) was slow losing two lengths.
c)	STREET'S AHEAD (M van Rensburg) was slow losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, TURNTHEBEATAROUND (M Yeni) jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls making contact with BROADLANDS (C Habib). As a result, TURNTHEBEATAROUND (M Yeni) became unbalanced and faltered badly.
b)	FAST DUTY (K Matsunyane) over-raced in the early and middle stages. 
c)	WHAT SAY YOU (*P Mxoli) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. Thereafter, Apprentice P Mxoli reported that WHAT SAY YOU did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
d)	In view of the performance of TURNTHEBEATAROUND (M Yeni), (distance 9,00 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
e)	PRIME EXAMPLE (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
