THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	OPENING CEREMONY (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	Shortly after the start SUNSET REAPER stumbled badly and dislodged Jockey Y Ramzan.
b)	THE LAST BELLE (C Maujean) brushed the inside running rail at the 1200m.
c)	At the 450m UNCLE GEORGE (J Mphanya) was steadied momentarily and switched out to avoid the heels of the riderless SUNSET REAPER. 
d) 	FEDERAL RESERVE (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 300m.
e)	Approaching the 200m SIBERIAN FOX (D de Gouveia) had to be steadied away from the heels of the riderless SUNSET REAPER, which shifted out.
f)	In view of the performance of AMERICAN DAZZLER (JP van der Merwe), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g)	CHERRY ANO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
