THE STARTER REPORTED:
	 
a)	RETALLICK (M Yeni) stumbled leaving the stalls. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	After jumping on terms, ANFIELDS ROCKET (R Danielson) failed to muster early speed and had to be encouraged forward vigorously by Jockey R Danielson. 
b)	Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with QUANTUM KING in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
c)	Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse ANFIELDS ROCKET more than three times on consecutive strides.  
Jockey R Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,000.00 was imposed.		
d)	Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse MERCANTOUR out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, prejudicing his chance of obtaining fifth place.  
Apprentice S Sosibo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R3,000.00.
e)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning QUANTUM KING, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer J J van Vuuren was advised.
f)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning RETALLICK, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Stable Employee C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised.	
g)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning HERECOMESTHERAIN, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer C J Lensley was advised.			
h)	ANFIELDS ROCKET (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G J Maroun advised (MduP).
