THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CARBONADO (L Mxothwa) was nervous and rushed the front gates in the starting stalls.
b)	CHERE FOR ME (D de Gouveia) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c)	DOUBLE DESTINY (R Fourie) and HOLLY'S VIEW (*RA Venniker) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 
 
a)	Shortly after the start DREAM SCAPE (C Maujean) shifted in away from BURNING MOON (K Steyn) and made contact with CHRONICLESOFNANIA (R Munger).
b)	At the 450m BURNING MOON (K Steyn) became momentarily unbalanced when racing tight between CARBONADO (L Mxothwa) and EKORIA (JP van der Merwe).
c)	At the 300m EASY LIVING (D Schwarz) had to be switched out to avoid the heels of a tiring DREAMT I COULD FLY (S Khumalo).
d)	Jockey K Minnie reported that BOUQUET changed stride continually in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	Jockey S Khumalo reported that DREAMT I COULD FLY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and coughed post-race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking DOUBLE DESTINY more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey R Fourie used his crop and the number of strikes (13). 
g)	CARBONADO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised. (LM)
